Trailer Watch: We’re just over a month from the release of Justice League and Warner Brothers is hitting it hard and heavy with the latest trailer for Zack Snyder’s new adventure film. The trailer is featured below.
This is the second trailer I’ve watched for the film, so I feel like I’m coming in from behind on this one. Built on story elements Zack Snyder introduced in Batman V Superman, this latest trailer focuses on the humor with action bits mixed in and fleshes out The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
Audiences were graced with the Amazonian Warrior, Wonder Woman in her solo film earlier this year. Gal Gadot prominently featured in Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice prior to this year’s early summer blockbuster. She does not disappoint in this trailer either.
Footage shot by Joss Whedon was used in this trailer, who took over the directing duties when Zack Snyder departed the project. The trailer carries Snyder’s trademark look while bringing in some of Whedon’s comedic sensibilities. Whedon is sharing a writing credit on the script with Chris Terrio.
Although reports surfaced earlier this year that Henry Cavill would be reprising his iconic Superman role, this trailer is the first time we see actual footage, even if it is a flashback. Warner Brothers went to lengths to deny Supes involvement in the film. Amy Adams reprises her role as the venerable Lois Lane.
Can Warner Brothers strike DC gold twice? Find out on November 17th when Justice League is released.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enslists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash – it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
