Today, Sucker Punch revealed that a free multiplayer update is coming to Ghost of Tsushima this fall. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, is a online cooperative multiplayer mode, that offers players an entirely new experience.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, doesn’t follow Jin or his allies, but instead focuses on four warriors who have been become legends through the tales traded by the people of Tsushima. The campaign focuses on an open-world where players explore the natural beauty of the land. Legends is haunting and mythical, with locations and foes inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology. The update has a huge focus on cooperative combat and actions.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was designed to be an exclusively cooperative experience. Players will be able to join with friends or with random players via an online matchmaking systems. Legends will be played with groups of two to four. Each player will pick one of four different classes and archetypes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Each class comes with their own abilities, but Sucker Punch plans to give more details at a later date.
Two people can join together in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and they will play a series of co-op story missions. These missions build upon the combat from the single-player experience, but with new magical twists that require more strategy with the co-op partner.
If a team of four of join together, they will be thrown against a wave-based survival mission. They will battle the toughest foes Tsushima has to offer, including new Oni enemies.
For fans craving more, and who feel up to the challenge, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will have four-player raids to tackle shortly after launch.
Sucker Punch stated they will give a more in-depth look at the classes abilities and the customization options. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is set to release this fall as a free update to players who already own the base game. Check out the announcement trailer below.
