Electricbento.com is always looking to expand our coverage of any video game or nerdy pursuits in general. Well, we are happy to announce our new eSports sections in collaboration with 2050esports!
I recently had a chance to interview Nathan Duke, the Head of eSports Production at 2050esports:
EB – First off, can you tell me what you do for 2050, and what exactly is 2050esports?
Nathan – My role is to develop the company’s broadcasting capabilities across all platforms. 2050esports is a full service eSports company. We host Online and LAN gaming tournaments and also provide general entertainment programming.
EB – I see that you all do weekly broadcasts, what do these entail? What is the format 2050esports uses?
Nathan – Our weekly broadcasts revolve around our weekly Street Fighter V tournament. Each week we host a free to enter bracket with a $100 prize to first place, 2050esports merch for 2nd place, with 3rd and below getting BFH (bus fare home) a.k.a. nothing. We are actually going into our 21st week of broadcasting these brackets. The brackets are 64 players max, with the winners of the pool play moving on into our top 8 bracket. The tournament is also double elimination, so one loss doesn’t mean you are done yet. We have actually seen some incredible champions come out of our losers bracket to win it all!
EB – Can you tell me more about your upcoming 5k Throwdown?
I would love to talk about our upcoming event! 2050esports and the Daytona International Speedway have teamed up to bring everyone our “5k Throwdown“, happening this upcoming weekend on Saturday, November 4th. The bracket has a 128 player cap and just like our other tournaments is completely FREE TO ENTER. Staying free to enter is something that we are very proud of, as it allows for players who can’t afford to attend other events to still have their chance to come in and prove their worth against some of the best. The event is going to be held in center track at the speedways media center. We are going to have vendors, casual play, and a live DJ all set up for spectators to enjoy while they watch Florida’s best throwdown on the main-stage.
EB – Sounds like you all are going to keep growing, as eSports in general gains more ground. Does 2050esports have any plans for the future?
2050esports definitely has some large plans ahead of us and we look to grow much more as a company in the upcoming year. My lips are unfortunately sealed, as far as going into more details go, at the moment.
EB – Thanks for your time Nathan, we here at ElectricBento.com really love watching 2050esports broadcasts and will be following along this weekend! Is there anything else you would like to add for our readers just learning about 2050esports? or in general?
As for people looking to get into 2050 or just esports in general I recommend tuning into our weekly broadcast and following our Street Fighter players for a nice welcoming experience into the wonderful world of esports.
Thank you again for chatting with me and I look forward to speaking with EB and yourself again!
