Activision has released a reveal trailer highlighting the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer mode, which will be released this November. In addition to the trailer, which can be seen below, the publisher also unveiled the dates that players can expect to jump into the multiplayer beta for each of the PS4 and Xbox One.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer will open the beta for PS4 owners on October 8 and Xbox One owners will get their shot on October 15. This news comes with the revelation that Cold War will also support cross-server, cross-progression, and cross-generation play, so even though the beta dates are different, when the full game ships in November, everyone will be able to play together.
Cross generation means that careers started on the PS4 or Xbox One will transfer over to PS5 and Xbox Series S/X when those consoles are released. The game will also integrate with Warzone, which looks to be sticking around.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal trailer also inadvertently offered details of locations that players will get to play in during the game’s campaign mode, with 1980’s Miami, the icy waters of the North Atlantic, the deserts of Angola, and various locations around Eastern Europe being presented. Vehicular combat looks to play a huge role as well.
The end of the multiplayer reveal trailer also hints at the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombies mode. Check out the trailer below.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has a lot to live up to after the stellar MP mode in Modern Warfare, but Treyarch and Raven are the studios who can pull it off. Fans will get their first look at the new game during the betas in October, if you preorder, and the full Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War game releases on November 13, 2020.
