captain price in Modern Warfare

Earlier today, the Call of Duty twitter account shared a brief synopsis of what’s ahead for fans of the franchise leading up to the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. With the Gunfight 2v2 Alpha test behind us, it was time to look forward for Activision and Infinity Ward. This begin in earnest next weekend with the start of the PlayStation exclusive open beta.

The open beta on PlayStation 4 will run from September 12th through September 16th. Once that concludes, crossplay details will be announced. This is something I’m particularly looking forward to, as I’m wondering how it will work between PC and console when friends across platforms are trying to play. The weekend after the PlayStation exclusive beta will see the launch of the crossplay beta, which will be an open beta across all platforms. Presumably this is to test cross platform stability.

Towards the end of September Activision and Infinity Ward will be revealing more information about the campaign. Players should be excited for this because what we saw at E3 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was fantastic. Finally, the week of October 7th will see the return of a fan favorite game mode, as Infinity Ward will finally be revealing Special Ops for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

We’ll have full impressions of next week’s open beta as soon as it concludes, and thoughts on the crossplay activity in a few weeks. Until then, stay tuned with us for the plethora of news that’s sure to come for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare over the next month and a half leading up to launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches October 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Preorders are still available here.
