Online survival shooter DayZ is getting a physical release courtesy of Sold Out and Bohemia Interactive. Launching on October 15th, the physical release of DayZ isn’t focused on packing it full of unreleased goodies, and instead opts to give physical buyers a reason to own the game. Priced at $39.99 the game will feature the same survival experience players are used to. This is your story, so play how you want to.
If you want to join up with others, you can, or if you want to go it alone that’s an option too. Players join in a server with 59 other players and fight for survival in a hostile open world.
We’re thrilled to be bringing the DayZ experience to so many more players on PS4 and Xbox One this October,” said Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director at Sold Out. “As one of the original online survival games, DayZ is a tense and thrilling title that has already seen millions of players across the globe team up with others – or betray them – to survive the open world of Chernarus.”
DayZ initially launched way back in 2013, and eventually made its way to Xbox One and PS4. A lot of people might be wondering “why now?” Now that it’s out on PlayStation 4, it actually makes the most sense as for timing. A physical release of DayZ should see an increase in players, since not everyone wants to buy digital only releases. Whatever the reason, gamers can get their hands on the physical release of DayZ on October 15th and jump into the world of Chemarus.
DayZ will be available physically for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One beginning on October 15th. Preorders are available here.
