Panache Digital Games and Private Division have revealed the final 101 video for the upcoming Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. The new video features Patrice Désilets as he explains how the evolution system will work within the title. He explains that players will grow with their character, as they uncover new uses for tools and upgrade their character as they learn.
Also released was a new video in the “Experiences” series. This video also features Patrice Désilets showing how the concepts of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey are influenced by motor skills and ideas that we still use today. New videos in the “Experiences” series will be released every three weeks.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a unique experience in which players take control of a member of an ape clan on their journey of evolution. Players will be able to control varying generations of the clan, and even fast forward time in order to see how the things they’ve learned have affected their lineage. This is a survival game though, and if all members of the ape clan die the game must be restarted.
At the start, players will only have a small section to explore, and must focus on making sure to keep their character alive, but as they uncover more skills the world gets bigger for them to uncover. With more space comes more threats though, and players will try to keep their ape clan alive while reaching the end goal: a new species. Both new videos can be seen below so check those out before you click away, and stay tuned with us closer to launch for a full review of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey launches August 27th for PC through the Epic Games Store, and digitally for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December. Preorders are available here.
