Late last week we reported that the two PlayStation Plus games that would join the instant game collection would be Pro Evolution Soccer and Horizon Chase Turbo. The PlayStation Blog has detailed a change to that lineup, and now, players will be able to add Detroit: Become Human to their library instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019.
A lot of people had voiced their displeasure to July’s PlayStation Plus lineup, which might be the cause of the change. Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 is a great game, but it still wasn’t what people were looking for when Sony announced that PlayStation 3 and Vita games would be removed from the lineup. Detroit: Become Human is a much better addition for the masses, and the lineup change should please most gamers. It’s worth noting that Detroit: Become Human will be the digital deluxe edition, meaning it will also include Heavy Rain for PlayStation 4 as well.
Horizon Chase Turbo is still the weaker of the two titles, but still has a 77, 76, and 82 on Metacritic for PlayStation 4, PC, and Switch respectively. The title is described as:
Prepare for a blast of pure ‘90s nostalgia with Horizon Chase Turbo, a love-letter to the iconic, just-one-more-go racers of the arcade’s golden age. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Out Run, Top Gear and Rush, developer Aquiris Game Studio captures the essence of the 16-bit era with style, with modern visuals, a soundtrack with insane arpeggios, and classic split-screen couch multiplayer. Play solo or grab up to three friends. You’ll pilot your car through extraordinary places, watching the sun setting, facing rain, snow, volcanic ashes and even severe sandstorms.
When Detroit: Become Human launched, we awarded it a 9.0, and thought that while it “doesn’t stray from the Quantic Dream formula, but it does make some pretty great advances in interactive storytelling.” Even though it didn’t edge out God of War as my favorite game of 2018, it was still a damn good title, and one Quantic Dream should be proud of.
