Earlier today, Bandai Namco revealed that Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost On would be heading to the Americas sometime this year for PlayStation 4. The 2-on-2 fighter was originally released way back in 2010 exclusively for Japanese arcades, and features a ton of Gundams from over 30 different Gundam franchises.
Each Gundam will have unique abilities to help match with player playstyles. Players will also be able to choose choose between three different EX Burst Systems: Fighting Burst, Extend Burst and Shooting Burst, in order to coordinate with allies and take down opponents.
According to Abelina Villegas, Associate Brand Manager at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc.:
“The EXTREME VS series is known for its high-octane brand of PVP Mobile Suit battles, and MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM EXTREME VS. MAXIBOOST ON is primed to take that style of combat to awesome new heights never-before-seen by GUNDAM fans in the Americas”
The last Gundam title that we saw here in the states was New Gundam Breaker, and while there was some enjoyment to be had in that title, it lacked meaningful battle sequences, and any sort of depth. There were a lot of customization options though that were really great, and the number of Gundam that are to be featured in Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Maxiboost On should help keep things fresh. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned with us for further coverage and info as we progress into 2020 from Bandai Namco.
