Earlier today, Activision announced that Spyro Reignited Trilogy would be heading to two new platforms. Much like the Crash N-Sane Trilogy, Spyro launched first for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and later headed to Switch and PC. It was a smart move though, bringing Crash to as many platforms as possible, because it was an incredibly faithful remake that brought the best of the franchise into one package.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is no different. Featuring Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, the remake should feel right at home on Nintendo Switch, with shorter levels that are perfectly played in short bursts on the go. Despite the hardware limitations for the Switch, Crash ran really well, even if it didn’t look as pretty in portable mode as its console big brothers.
In addition to announcing that Spyro Reignited Trilogy was heading to Switch and PC, Activision also revealed that Spyro was heading to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. The new Spyro & Friends Grand Prix begins on August 30th, and will add Spyro, Gnasty Gnorc, and Hunter to the race, along with a new Spyro themed track. The Spyro celebrations is massive this year, and fans are better off for it!
When Spyro Reignited Trilogy launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we thought that “the world is beautiful, the sound design is great, and the passion that Toys for Bob put into rebuilding this world is something I’d like to see from other developers. The package here is a great buy at $39.99 and those that grew up with Spyro, or even those looking for a new platformer will have a ton of content to get through in a nostalgic little bow.
