During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Square Enix would be re-releasing Trials of Mana for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC next year. The remake will be heading to those platforms on April 24th with special preorder bonuses. The new trailer, which can be seen below, gives players a look at the cast of the game with the wonderful orchestral score that will be included.
The title was originally released in Japan way back in 1995, and recently was part of the Collection of Mana bundle on Nintendo Switch. This release of Trials of Mana is a full high-def remake of the original title, and will feature real-time combat, 3D visuals, and updated gameplay. Exactly what the updated gameplay is has yet to be revealed, but with the full revamp of almost every aspect of the game, it should be a big launch for the publisher.
The game tells the story of six heroes as they battle against the forces of evil that threaten a world where Mana has been weakened.
Trials of Mana features a story that players build, with the characters they want to include. Out of the six heroes included, players will pick three to take on their adventure to protect the essence of Mana. Anyone who purchases Trials of Mana by May 21, 2020 will receive a Rabite Adornment DLC, netting them bonus experience after battle up to level 10. Digital preorders on the PlayStation store will also get players an exclusive avatar set of all six characters, while Steam preorders will get players a wallpaper set. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned with us for more coverage on Trials of Mana between now and launch.
