It’s been a long time since Vanquish released and was lost in the PS3 abyss. Finally, SEGA and PlatinumGames have revealed that both Vanquish and Bayonetta are heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Both titles will be available in one package for $39.99 on February 18th. The titles have been visually enhanced for the current generation, and will feature 4K resolutions at 60 frames per second. I for one am exceedingly excited to replay Vanquish again.
Those that like to pre-order their games physically will receive a special embossed steelbook with new key art for both titles. Those that pre-order digitally for PlayStation 4 before launch will receive a special theme featuring both titles that won’t be available after launch. The special steelbook can be seen below.
Vanquish follows Sam Gideon, in his attempt to retake the Providence space colony to protect life on Earth after its limited resources are threatened. Vanquish was a title that flew under the radar on PlayStation 3, and has long deserved a remaster for more people to enjoy the frenetic sci-fi action. Bayonetta is a title that needs little introduction, but since the franchise has been Nintendo-locked, this is a good opportunity for players unfamiliar to jump in. The combo-heavy title follows Bayonetta as she transforms and summons demons with her hair to take down countless foes.
